Oh my giddy aunt. It's been over a year since we've posted an article on here. A year.
A year is a long time in website-ing to be without any material being added. Luckily we have produced a few podcast episodes in the interim, and really that's what we are about.
We've had a busy old year of it anyway, from moving cities, changing jobs and attending weddings to generally just being busy!
We're going to be focusing on new content again soon, real soon. Until then, please get in touch. Let us know what you'd like to hear, see, smell or experience from us and who knows... you might just get it!
With 26 days until the official release (21 days with EA Access' 10 hour early access) of Mass Effect Andromeda the press have been allowed 5 hours with the game to review it.
Unfortunately we don't have the status or credentials to be invited to these sort of events, but we have watched almost every review posted today about the experiences.
That's just one of the videos posted by GamesRadar but if you throw a rock at Youtube you can't miss one of these videos today, so feel free to take a look!
What we're excited about is the promise of a new yet familiar Mass Effect experience.
Gone are the power wheels which allowed you previous moments to calculate your next move in favour of more fluid, reactive gunfights with an emphasis on the freedom of movement.
The dialogue is more expansive and less black and white, ushering in shades of ambiguity that allow you to interact with the Non-Player Characters in a more natural way than when you were blindly trying to be a Paragon or Renegade.
We are just far too excited for this game.
In the meantime you'll usually find us on Xbox Live under our GamerTags "RevRuar" and "PurpleHazel91".
Otherwise, we'll see you in another galaxy...
Hello and Happy New Year from UnHipsterPod!
We had a quiet end to 2016 with Ruairidh and Tom both busy with Christmas Nights out, Panto and families. But this year things will be different....
So we're not sure whether to make another section of the site specially for Special Features or Bonus Features. But for now, pleas enjoy the audio from when we watched Cyborg.
This is just in case you want the sounds of our narration to enhance your enjoyment of JCVD kicking ass and taking names in a post-apocalyptic, plague ridden future.
Hopefully by now you've listened to our latest Podcast, episode 4: Guilty Pleasures or Robin Hood Origins Awakens Begins.
We had a lot of fun recording that and welcoming a new guest; Ruairidh's wife Laura Hastie.
As Annie famously sang "The sun'll come out tomorrow", well we hope it does. We're going to be recording our next podcast tomorrow and we're going to be talking TV; our favourite shows and why we love them. We're hoping to have our first guest as well. They're not famous though, so I wouldn't get too excited.
We're also going to be recording a video message which we'll be posting here and on Facebook to introduce ourselves face to face so that our listeners know a bit more about us.
So please get in touch if you have suggestions for us whether it's for improvement or for topics. We're new to this game and we enjoy ourselves, so we want you to enjoy yourself too.
We're excited for tomorrow, and hope you are too.
So today we recorded published our Podcast to the iTunes Store, recorded our second episode, created a jingle (if you hate it, let us know), setup email, twitter, Facebook and this site!
It's been a busy day!
We'll try and post to this as regularly as we can, maybe about pop culture musings, maybe about nothing at all.
We've got some exciting ideas for the future, but we're always open for collaborations and new ideas. Let us know on the Contact Us page.
Anyway, I just want to thank you for listening to us, whether you're a long time friend or a brand new pair of ears.
